About James Allen Photography

James Allen is an Army Veteran who, after 22 years of service, retired in 2011. James then went on to study for two years at the Art Institute of Austin. 

James Allen Photography now consist of three staff photographer and five post production staff members. Initially starting off with youth sports, family portraiture and weddings, they now do all types of photography. But, their main focus has shifted to fitness events and models.

In November, 2010 they were asked to shoot an NPC Bodybuilding show for Muscular Development. And since 2012, James and his company have been the official NPC Photographers for Texas Bodybuilding Contest. In fact, their media team covers every NPC show in Texas. Throughout the year James and his crew are in every major city in Texas, so they are able to help clients state-wide.

Owner, James Allen expresses, "Competitors work so hard in the gym, and in the kitchen, to get their bodies ready for each show. It is very rewarding and satisfying feeling when you see the enjoyment and pride they have in their images."

In 2015 James became the official photographer for the Europa series.

Their modeling and stage work has been published in Austin Fit Magazine, Muscular Development, and FLEX Magazine. Some of their model sessions were also used in various clothing and supplement adds for several online companies and publications.

They frequently do fitness apparel shoots for companies throughout the year.

James continues, "While fitness photography is our passion, we are highly qualified in commercial, boudoir, family portraiture and weddings."
